AUTISM CANADA LAUNCHES NATIONAL INSIDE OUT FOR AUTISM EVENT

A fundraiser in support of Autism Awareness and Acceptance

Join thousands of students and companies across Canada as they raise funds for autism awareness and acceptance in their own unique and creative ways.

This fun and easy event will be held at schools and work places in communities across Canada the week of April 3, in recognition of World Autism Awareness Day (April 2). Host one at your school or work place or join an established event. Either way, join us and make a difference. We are asking schools to register their event online and raise funds and awareness in a way that works and matters to them. It could be a car wash, a toonie drive, or a casual day – the options are endless. Then, turn your shirt inside out and join in the fun! 80% of funds raised on PEI will support the Autism Society of PEI, a provincial member of Autism Canada.

Inside Out for Autism was originally initiated by the driving efforts of parent, Jacalyn MacAulay, from Prince Edward Island. Due to its success, it is now being offered in communities across Canada.

“Noticing all the important fundraisers going on at the schools throughout the school year, I thought of how wonderful it would be to have a day for the children and staff to focus on autism awareness. Being a parent of a child diagnosed with autism, I see every day how important it is to be an advocate for your child and for others living with autism,” said MacAulay.
